You stay in the ark of stillness,
Long after the floods dried out
In tiny compartments, your generation suffers
Scared to come out
Scared to peep out
Souls starving, minds starving, bodies starving
Of the aforesaid – scarcity in plenty,
You were robbed, I understand – enslaved
And left at the mercy of inferiority complex
Upon alien culture of the uncultured,
For they made you walk barefoot, not on soft grass
But on shards of broken glass
Walk! And when you fall, they force you to your feet
Again and again; to them what a feat!
Like the overseers of your journey to Golgotha.
How your past remain so glorious and resplendent
Your kingdoms great, of knowledge transcendent
Let it trickle like water droplets
To quench generation’s mind thirst.
To awaken the warrior spirit in us
Arrows and spears, more casualties
For they shall no longer live on their knees!

thanks mc qham...you know what it is...word brotha!!!
I thot I commented on this?!...ok...
First the subject is poetry in itself...it puts a very interestin twist to the biblical ark as we know it...it was made to shelter and protect life from destruction...but the "stillness" part of it is wat gives this piece its flavor...
You stay in the ark of stillness,
Long after the floods dried out
In tiny compartments, your generation suffers
wat is made to save u turns against u'...its an horrific experience n' its happening everyday everywhere on this planet earth!
Of the aforesaid – scarcity in plenty,
Well thot!...I wish I wrote that myself...I envy!!!
For they made you walk barefoot, not on soft grass
But on shards of broken glass
Did anyone say that out loud like I did?!...n' felt the flow n' rhyme in it?!...thats a special delivery which carries alot of weight in it...
How your past remain so glorious and resplendent

Nice write bro!...keep more comin'.
Peace.
