You drew me out

As a blade would pressed to flesh.

Cloaked in the tantalizing nature of death

Like a night light to insects

You induce a deadly attraction,

A pleasure from pain,

Of which only you are to gain.

Stirring an urge

Deep in the wombs of women,

You thread a sorrowful scent of helplessness

By the careless flicker of your tail

Which you knew would be difficult not to trail

A dying dog

In search for its final resting place

I follow, at first, at a distance

Till you find a peace with me;

We share an intense intimacy

As you let me watch you

Undress your wounds

And dress them in pieces of me

Remained stained in your blood

Bound to your side

A bandage you bled through

Now used, healed and discarded,

Left only with a slashed scar, a reminder of you.

damn, i love the build up.

Its pitiable how weak love makes a woman, especially the one in this poem. these lines;

the dog imagery worked really well for the poem and the point you're trying to put acroos of more instinct than reason...helplessness, I might say.

great write, Eizzy.

gotta quote that stanza. the whole build up of the poem is beautiful (and I can relate), but that last stanza took it to another level

She's my first and she's my last! (on-line stalker)

She's eizzy.

Wow, the imagery amazes me, the concept ties very well with it. I'm still tryin to understand the title. I understand why they die there i just don't knw why u chose dogs of all animals. They are the ones that hurt people, not the other way round. Please explain this for me.

cornelius - lol, i hope not...

Vnorm - i feel ya Vnorm, its sad but beautiful...

couzifer - you know i always come back, make sure i check out whats fresh n not to mention drop a lil'something too! we may travel far and wide, but always come back home, ey?!

Poetic Seraph - Thanks, glad u can relate. I guess most females go through this at some point...men maybe too?

Oxytim - LoL, who's stalking who? well its actually a random reason...well, a few weeks back a stray puppy showed up at my gate, and i couldnt just leave it out there. so i took it in, called the vet, washed it, stayed with it all evening, prayed over it...the next morning it had died. Got me thinking...somehow my Ex pop'd into mind...

some guys come into a girls life, with their big sad puppy dog eyes, start something in which they know wont last...use the love and care to heal, leave and leaving you scared. I blame motherly instincts, like Vnorm mentioned, is a helpless instinct.

a bit like that puppy, that sought some love perhaps before it died, i thought.

and then i wrote.
